A Light that shone bright
Justin Key (1983 – 2009)
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
Justin Key was a 2006 Torrey graduate who died on Dec. 14, 2009 in Charlottesville, VA after medical complications. He was 26 years old.
While his life was short, his impact was large. He was the first (of many) Biola business majors to pursue an MBA at the Darden School of Business (UVA) and mentored dozens of applicants into Graduate studies. For the love of the world, he traveled to more than 30 countries, learned 3 languages, worked abroad in Spain and South America, became an international shipping expert, and was awarded multiple fellowships and scholarships. He was an avid Salsa dancer, wrote an unfinished young adult fiction novel, and played a pivotal role in growing the California Schools Project.
But it is most likely that his largest legacy will be felt by the hundreds of people he personally spoke with about the goodness of the Gospel of Jesus.
